This causes the plant fibres to become softer and can be easily stripped. The plant fibres are then washed in long bundles in running water and then left to dry for 2 to 3 days. The jute stems are sorted by colour, strength and fibre length before being pressed into bales for the processor. The processor works with the jute material and creates a woven rug from it. This weaving technique also ensures that your new jute rug is even stronger because the fibres are woven tightly together.
